Travel-planning

Travel recommendations have traditionally come from either guidebooks or friends—rarely from a curated network of verified travelers. ShareTrip addresses this gap by creating a platform where travelers monetize their experiences while helping others discover authentic destinations. The platform operates on a dual-sided model. Travelers who have taken trips can share their itineraries, including specific hotel selections and attraction recommendations, with personal ratings. Other users planning trips discover these recommendations organized by destination, view the full itineraries, and book accommodations and experiences directly through the platform at standard market rates. Travelers whose recommendations convert to bookings earn 40 percent of the booking commission, creating a direct financial incentive to share high-quality experiences. What distinguishes ShareTrip from generic travel review sites is the emphasis on verified, full-context itineraries rather than isolated reviews. A visitor to Barcelona doesn't just read isolated hotel or restaurant ratings; they see a complete multi-day trip structure from another traveler, including pacing, accommodation choices, and themed activities. This granular sharing extends across 21 countries with over 300 recommended places currently listed. The platform verifies that itineraries come from travelers who genuinely took these trips, filtering out purely speculative advice. The integration of AI chat suggests trip planning moves beyond browsing. Users can describe their travel preferences conversationally and receive personalized recommendations based on the shared itinerary library. This positions ShareTrip as both a discovery and planning tool rather than simply a review aggregator. The commission model is explicit: creators earn 40 percent of booking fees when their recommendations drive revenue. For hotels and attractions, being recommended on ShareTrip serves as a partnership opportunity, with promoted venues invited to join as direct partners. The current dataset shows early traction with 26 shared trips across multiple languages and geographic regions, demonstrating the concept's feasibility. Expansion depends on building sufficient recommendation density across destinations and maintaining verification credibility as the platform scales. ShareTrip targets experiential travelers and travel enthusiasts seeking both authentic guidance and a revenue stream from their wanderlust. The model rewards quality curation and creates an economic incentive for transparency that traditional travel platforms lack. Whether it achieves meaningful scale depends on converting casual travelers into regular contributors willing to document and share their trips in structured detail.
